The first, of baluster form with a tall waisted neck and wide galleried mouth, painted to the body with a bird perched on a gnarled tree among flowering peony branches issuing from garden rocks, molded in relief to the neck with prunus sprigs, incised to the base with a four-character Chenghua mark, but possibly Qing dynasty the second, of ovoid form, decorated with large double happiness symbols amidst foliate scrolls, with a wooden cover. Both with fitted carved rosewood bases.
Height of the first: 13 1/2 inches (34.3 cm).
Condition: The first with a crack measuring 2 1/2 inches long to the mouth.
