Pair of Jacob Petit Porcelain Cornucopia Vases

Circa 1835 - 1845.
Jacob Mordecai (variously spelled Mardoche, known as Jacob Petit). 1797 -1848. The flaring bodies with foliate scroll terminates, on shaped rectangular stands with scroll feet. Medium blue ground, with gilt floral sprays throughout, painted in polychrome enamels with fine bouquets in shaped cartouches.
Both marked in underglaze blue J.P. with various dots.
Approximate dimensions: 10 H. x 8 1/2 W. x 6 D. .
Provenance: As sold to consignors by Mervin G. Morais Antiques, New Orleans, LA. Mr. Morais started dealing in New Orleans as early as the 40s and as late as the 1960s.
Condition: The pair of cornucopia are in remarkably good condition, with minor wear to gilding minor scratching and wear typical of items of this age.
