ANDERS ZORN (Swedish 1860-1920) Edo and Karl Asplund Zorns Engraved Work Part 1 and 2 Etching. Catalog of etchings (2 books) Sight 8 1/4 x 5 7/8 inches Frame 16 1/2 x 13 1/2 inches. Each book measures 13 x 10 3/8 inches. Signed in pencil lower right Zorn signed and dated in the plate lower right Zorn 1907. The catalog was published in 1920 in Stockholm by A.B. H. Bukowskis Konsthandel and was translated by Edward Adams-Ray. This book is numbered 40. Each book had labels attached (they have since been removed) from A.B.H Bukowskie Konsthandel, Stockholm with their numbering upper right corner No. 40. PROVENANCE (for the books) Purchased from Frederick Keppel and Co. New York by Mrs. R. Reimer in 1921 he then attempted to sell them to Arthur H. Harlow Co New York in 1944. It seems they were unable to sell them. (Documentation included with books) CONDITION In overall good condition, when examined out of the frame the sheet is not laid down but is hinged at the top. The sheet has severe mat burn and time staining throughout the sheet. There are no abrasions or tears to the paper, but does have a deckled edge at the bottom and on the right side. When examined in the light there is a indistinct water mark on the left edge of the paper. The image is titled on the verso of the sheet lower left corner. Would benefit from being re-framed. The books are in good condition for their age, with no visible tears to the spines or missing outer parts ie cover or back cover.
