Provenance: Label affixed verso for the "9th Annual State-Wide Exhibition, with Frank Tenney Johnson's name, address: 22 Champion Place, and title: A Lone Rider Alhambra. Purchased in 1936 by a Private Collector, Oakland CA, by familial descent to current owner Oakland, CA. Exhibition History: Ninth Annual State-Wide Exhibition. Twenty-Sixth Annual Exhibition November 16 – December 31, 1935 @ Museum of History, Science and Art, Los Angeles. New Year’s Eve Beaux-Arts Ball (1935) – Episode 2 of A Night in Venice: “In Titian’s Studio” Presented by the CAC “and other artists groups” (McCracken, FTJ’s Western Paintings, 1974) Pres. F. T. Johnson played Titian, his wife Vinnie played Orsa. Condition: Good. No visible issues of any kind or under UV/Blacklight. Not relined. Note: Created in 1935, this is the first year Frank Tenney Johnson served as the California Art Club President. The 15th CAC President, he held this office from 1935 - 1938.
