A Chinese Mens Blue Ground Silk Robe and Pants

Late 19th to early 20th Century.
The robe is finely tailored with a right side opening, the dark blue ground silk fabric woven with repeated Buddhist treasure symbols roundels, the closure applied with six silk buttons, the pants are made of dark blue silk fabric, and the top portion is made out of light blue silk material.
Length of the robe: 55 1/2 inches (144.97 cm).

The top is constructed and altered from an original Chinese teal blue ground silk embroidered rectangular panel, the front and back embroidered in colorful threads and satin stitches, depicting lady companies by a child and a deer amongst blooming flowers and garden rocks, the panel bordered by black ground floral trims, the sleeves made from half translucent light blue chiffon silk material. The skirt is altered from similar Chinese silk material, the lower section decorated with blossoming flowers and ducks and birds, terminated with black ground floral hem.
Length of the top: 33 1/2 inches (85.09 cm) length of skirt: 35 inches (88.9 cm).
