The canvas has been relined and partially scrubbed, there looks to be some crushed impasto in the sides of the mountains and throughout the trees. Pressure cracking throughout the sky. The frame is fragile and has been repaired in several places, especially in the corners.

CONDITION: In overall good condition, was note examined out of the frame due to the fragility of the paper. Creasing, folds and wear throughout due to the utilitarian nature of the poster. The whole poster is in tact, discoloration throughout from age.
Notes: This poster is from the May 1968 movement in France when there were a series of student occupation protests against capitalism, consumerism, American imperialist and traditional institutions. There were mass strikes throughout France with 11 million workers eventually striking, approximately 22 of the total population of France at the time. The movement lasted 7 weeks and ended as quickly as it started with workers gaining significant wage increases and the dissolution of the National Assembly and the call for Parliamentary elections. According Alain Geismar (one of the leaders of the time) the movement succeeded as a social revolution, not as a political one.

The impression is strong with no visible abrasions or damage to the image. This work would benefit from being re-mounted and re-framed.
