In her new home in the Bay Area, Parker trusted her hunch about folk art and she was right. Parkers museum outgrew the Richmond District house and moved to Fort Mason before landing downtown as the renamed Museum of Craft and Folk Art. Gertrude Parkers own art can be found in the permanent collections of the Oakland Museum of California and the Berkeley Art Museum/Pacific Film Archive. She also left behind a significant personal collection of surrealist and abstract art which will eventually have a home in a new gallery and museum in San Rafael.

Patricia Glaub ( ne Perkins) , daughter of Donald and Frances , and her husband Donald Glaub then purchased the work from Robert and Frances Feller. The work has been passed down by familial descent to the Donald J and Patricia K Glaub family trust in 2021. The piece has been in private hands since 1962.

A Chinese White Jade Mounted Rosewood Ruyi Secpter
Qing Dynasty,19th Century. The scepter head, midpoint, and tail-mounted with convex jade plaques of similarly carved scenes of Scholar in mountainscapes in relief, the stone a mottled grayish hue with Knotted tassel. Display in a Lucite rectangle case on fitted silk carved base. Width approximately 20 inches (50.8 cm) the display box: H 11 1/2 x W 28 x D 12 inches (29.2 x 71.1 x 30.4 cm). With a wooden base display box with arcylic lid.
A Large Chinese Scholars Rock Lingbi Stone Attributed to Qian Dian (1744-1806)
Gongshi Scholars Rock, Ying stone, its naturalistic horizontal orientation resembling conjoined twin peaks mountain, with two -character inscription Lin Yun , and signed in regular script Qian Xi (1744-1806 Qing Dynasty Calligrapher) supported by carved fitted rosewood stand. Height: Approximately 28 inches (71.1 cm).
Each modeled in a recumbent pose with the head raised and flanked by large ears below horns, four sinuous legs folded, the tail forming a loop handle, the body molded florets, pierced with circular apertures on the head and below the tail, covered overall with a yellowish-brown glaze. Dimensions: 18 long x 15 inches high (45.7 x 38.1 cm). Condition: Some wear, minor chipping.
Including three face-shaped carvings, a male figure with a rat, a mushroom carving, and a double-chestnut carving, each inscribed with a makers mark. Largest: 2 1/2 inches (6.3 cm). Condition: Some minor wear.
The interior finely decorated with four bats in copper red glaze surrounding a Shou roundel, the exterior depicting lotus blossoms and leaves under a band of ruyi-heads. Six characters Da Qing Jia Qing Nie Zhi in copper red to the recessed base. Diameter 6 inches (15.2 cm).
A Large Chinese Famille Rose Phoenix and Lotus Bowl
The exterior is finely decorated with stylized phoenix and lotus in various colors under the red and gilt border on the rim, the bottom inscribed red underglaze Guangxu mark. Height 3 1/2 x Diameter 8 1/4 inches (8.8 x 20.9 cm).
With steep flaring sides, the exterior delicately painted a traveling robed scholar riding a horse toward a wooden bridge in a landscape setting, poetic inscription in the regular script and two underglaze red seals to the opposite side, the cover similarly decorated and with the underglaze copper-red Daoguang seal mark repeated in the base of the bowl and inside the circular handle of the cover. H 3 1/2 x D 4 3/8 inches (8.8 x 11.1 cm).
Two Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Dishes, Dao Guang Mark
The shallow sidewalls of each dish rising to a flared rim, identically enameled to the exterior with fruiting and flowering gourds and bamboo, the recessed base centered with a six-character Daoguang mark in underglaze blue. Diameter 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm).
With steep flaring sides, the exterior decorated with scattered stylized foliate roundels in colorful enamels, a six-character Daoguang mark in iron red underglaze repeated in the base of the bowl and inside the circular handle the cover. Of cylindrical form, the exterior pierced with six oval quatrefoil apertures edged in gilt, the body densely enameled with many leafy lotus flowers and Xi - double happiness characters, reserved on the yellow ground the interior turquoise-glazed. Six-character Dao Guang Mark in underglaze iron-red mark to the recessed base. Height 11 inches (27.9 cm).
Pair of Chinese Porcelain Vases on Dore Bronze Pedestals
The tall ovoid body with a waisted neck and everted rim, enamelled in grisaille with branches of flowering chrysanthemums, hibiscus and yellow birds in the baby blue ground, the neck decorated with a band of heart-shaped ruyi, the floral scrolls on foot, turquoise interior and base, with the iron red Dayazhai mark, inscribed beside an oval seal, the base with an iron red mark Yong qing hang chun, together with gilt bronze import style pedestals. Vase: 21 3/4 inches (55.2 cm) Pedestal: 29 1/2 inches (74.9 cm).
Of broad pear shape with a waisted neck and wide everted mouth, set with a pair of pink enameled handles on the shoulders, decorated in polychrome enamel with floral sprays and four roundels of various flowers and birds such as peacock and pheasants, all above upright lappets, the shoulder with lotus scrolls against a green ground between raised pink-ground floral borders, the mouth with ruyi pendants, the base with a six-character mark. With gilt wood base. Dimensions: 18 1/2 high x 10 1/4 inches diameter (46.9 x 26 cm). Condition: Chips to the foot ring.
The lobed oval bowl rising from tapered foot, depicting three wise men with Taoist figures on the wall, the interior covered with mint blue glaze, the bottom inscribed a red underglaze Da Qing Tongzhi Nian Zhi mark. W 10 1/2 x D 8 x H 3 1/2 inches (26.6 x 20.3 x 8.8 cm).
The globular body depicts a gathering scene of elegant scholars in the deep blue ground, between large ruyi and broad lappets, the wooden lid carved in openwork attached a mottled hardstone knot with a fitted wooden base. Height 18 inches (45.7 cm). Condition: The bottom separation from the body, wear and glaze losses.
Of baluster form, colorfully painted and decorated with floral lappets, the body attached four orange beast heads, together with the fitted cover, the green-grey mystical beast on the top. Height: Approximately 26 inches (66 cm).

Of pressed round body with three spouts and a pair of dragon handles, the panel in the center inscribed gilt-red dragon with flaming fires, the bottom inscribed blue underglaze Qianlong mark. Height: 10 inches (25.4 cm).
Well potted with a tapered ovoid body rising to a broad shoulder with a short neck, the center layer depicts fishes in water above the short lappets, the stylized ruyi band on the shoulder, the bottom inscribed with six-character Da Ming Jia Jing Nian Zhi mark. A Rare Chinese Blue and White Ingot Form Waisted Box and Cover
Decorated in saturated cobalt-blue tone to the upper surface of the cover with a pair of Foo Dogs contesting a brocade ball in a double-lined panel of ingot-shape, the rounded sides of both box and cover with borders of leafy scrolls and blossoming camellias decorations, the rims with thin key-fret band, the base inscribed a six Characters Da Ming Jia Jing mark in a double-lined rectangular border. H 3 3/8 x W 9 1/2 x D 5 inches (8.5 x 24.1 x 12.7 cm).
Late Ming Dynasty. Resting on three small feet decorated with masks of mystical beasts, the body painted in varying shades of blue with two rounded cartouches framed by sectional wan diaper ground divided by ruyi scepter, the cartouches panels similarly depicting a Qiling beasts in the garden, all below a floral and Wan diaper band under a floral decorated rim, the bottom inscribed underglaze blue six characters Wanli Mark. H 5 3/4 x D 6 1/4 inches (14.6 x 15.8 cm). Condition: Chips and glaze losses on the rim, the bottom repaired.
Depicting the legendary Taoist master, Lu Dongbin ( ), standing on an apertured plinth wearing loose floral decorated robes, carrying a sword and a hat on the back and a Taoist attribute. Height: Approximately 11 inches (27.9 cm).
A Rare Chinese Celadon Ground Phoenix Bowl, Dao Guang Mark
The deep rounded sides supported on a slightly tapered foot rising to a gently everted rim, the exterior decorated with iron-red roundels of five stylized phoenixes, the interior with a further phoenix roundel, all reserved on an even glaze of pale grayish-green tone, the base inscribed with a six-character Daoguang mark in underglaze blue. H 2 3/4 x W 5 3/4 inches (6.9 x 14.6 cm).
A Chinese Longquan Celadon Incise Floral Motif Vase
Possibly Ming Dynasty. Of attenuated ovoid body with a slightly tapered neck, decorated with incised morning glory flower and foliate motifs, fitted on a wooden base. Height 11 3/4 inches (29.8 cm). Condition: Some chips and dents.
Each barrel-form stool carved and molded with two opposing taotie masks with pierced fixed rings, alternating with pierced double-coin medallions, all between two horizontal bands of raised bosses, covered overall with a crushed-berry glaze embellished with streaks of a variegated blue glaze. Dimensions: 12 1/4 high x 14 inches wide (31.1 x 35.5 cm).
Of tapering rounded form, the exterior decorated on the central register with two rectangular cartouches, depicting a fisherman on the river bank and a scholar and his attendant on the hillside on another side, each panel with poetic inscriptions, enameled with eight Buddhist treasure emblems admits the clouds, all reserved on a vibrant turquoise ground, protruding mouth rim with a rinsed cloud motif, the interior decorated with fish in the swim with various colors, on carved fitted hardwood stand. Height 33 1/2 x Diameter 21 inches (85 x 53.3 cm) with the stand.

Depicted with a long hair and beard to his broad face, his right hand upon the left wrist, wearing a leaf-wreathed dress, sitting on a plinth supported by two-tone rock. Height 8 1/4 inches (20.9 cm). Fuxi or Fu Hsi is mythical Chinese emperor of the sky, acknowledged inventor of the eight trigrams (pa-kua).
A Fine Bronze Figure of A seated Ascetic Buddha Shakyamuni
Seated with his left leg raised and his right in parallel to the ground, both of his hands folded on his left knee, his head looking forward, downcast eyes, closed mouth with a slight hint of a smile, emphasized big ears and skinny torso with prominent ribs. Height 7 inches (17.7 cm). Fasting Buddha Shakyamuni, after reaching enlightenment at Bodhgaya, Shakyamuni meditated and fasted for forty-nine days. Thus, showing him as an emaciated renouncer relates to his enlightenment and his status as a yogic ascetic who has ultimate control over his body.

Comprising a figure seated in vajrasana, with the right hand reaching down towards the ground in bhumisparsha mudra, the left hand held gently in the lap in dhyana mudra, hair-bearing brown pigment and wearing a golden robe and a meditating figure with his hand folded in lap, kneeling on the pedestal. A Rare and Magnificent Chinese Monumental Theatrical Diorama with Kingfisher Feather Embellishment
Possibly Late Qing Dynasty. Constructed on the large front panel of the wedding bed, portray in various levels of raucous stage performance, comprising fourteen weapon-bearing male and female warriors and civil and martial figures, all standing in vivid performing postures with dramatic facial expressions, with the entire composition filled with figures in elaborate theatrical costume. A Group of Chinese Embroidered Wall Panel and Sleeve Bands
The first, a large wall panel decorated with blue flowers and butterflies in the deep blue ground, surrounded by a pale yellow border depicting figures in the garden scene the second, a pair of mirrored sleeve bands decorated with two fishes in a natural scene. Wall panel: 23 x 75 inches (58.4 x 190 cm) Framed sleeve band: 21 3/4 x 5 inches (55.2 x 12.7 cm) each. Condition: Some wear and fraying.
Each inserted a cinnabar panel depicting a wriggling dragon and flaming pearl surrounded by ruyi clouds, bordered by a black lacquer frame painted and gilt with foliate scrolls and lotus flowers, the back inscribed with a Chinese theme Qian Long Yu Ti, each screen set within a later low table frame.
