CONDITION: In overall fair condition, foxing and mat burn throughout. Sheet is not laid down on mount but does have some sort of tissue paper attached to the back of the sheet, the tissue paper looks to have been glued to the mount and has completely yellowed. Two areas of missing paper along the top of the sheet from the top mat being attached at one point.

Light toning to the sheets throughout, presumably from exposure to light with fading to the images. There are no visible abrasions or areas of missing paper on either sheet.

Three 19th and 20th Century Continental Porcelain Vases Handpainted and with Gilding

France, and possibly French or Italian.
Circa 1840, the first the second, circa 1860, and the third, circa 1950 after an 1825 original.
The first: a French globular vase with green ground, painted with fruit and flowers on a marble slab within an etched gilt band, sounded by white and gold floral wreath, gilt bands to rim and foot. The second: a French baluster-form vase with two floral-spray handles to the sides, decorated with green-ground bands bracketting an extensive scene of Fisherwomen by a stream painted with polychrome enamels. Parcel gilding to handles and gilt bands to rims, foot, neck and waisted base. The third: a Continental vase of Neo-Classical form, with bisque porcelain mask-head handles, with a pale blue ground bracketing a scene of stylish women at pursuits, standing near a column, and one holding a parasol in a garden. Gilt metal scallop shell applied to neck, and with a gilt metal hexagonal-shaped base.
Iron red 3 to the first impressed 1510 to the second. The third, as mounted, does not have visible marks.
13 1/2 H. to 19 H.
On the first vase, half of the mouth broke off and has been reglued and overpainted, the repair now visible. A 2 1/4 long section of the rim of the second vase broken off and taped into place. The third vase is drilled, with the rod right to the top, and now just above a brass rim cap. Wear to parcel gilding, on handles, of second example.

Modelled in three sections: the cylindrical basket, with three galleries pierced alternately as basket oblongs and rectangles, modelled in low relief with blue banderole, and blue flowerheads centering yellow faces at the upper interstices modelled atop a straight cylindrical stand, supported by four nude putti holding trumpet fire, corncucopia and one with a skin atop a squat base on four scroll feet.
Blue underglazed crossed swords mark with a dot and 2 above.
Approximate dimensions: 23 high x 13 3/4 inches diameter overall..
Condition: A 1 7/8 section of the scalloped rim to the base has broken off and is absent the top of the columnar support has a 1 chip and that section is absent. section of the long end of the trumpet broken off, restored and another part replaced and overpainted. hand holding flame with crack, a 3 long firing crack to base. Some of the seams are visible.
